DPS Meter & Combat Log

A transparent, always-on-top overlay floating above the game with live damage output for you and your group. Pet and charm damage rolls up under the owner — including charm-break detection that drops the binding the moment a former pet starts hitting you. Boss fights stay grouped instead of fragmenting. Copy any fight or session summary to clipboard for guild chat.

Combat History

Every fight gets archived to a local SQLite store with retention pruning so a long session doesn't bloat into gigabytes. Browse, filter, and group by NPC, character, or date — facet dropdowns, date presets, and a session-grouping toggle (120s gap rule) make finding that one boss attempt from last week trivial. Three DPS metrics — Personal, Raid, Encounter — switch on the fly across every aggregate display.

Watch your aggro before you rip it

Threat Meter

A personal, per-mob hate estimator built entirely from your own combat log — no client hooks. It tallies the hate you generate from damage, instant-aggro spells, hate-modifying buffs, heals, and the misses in between, then surfaces a live per-mob reading with a rolling hate-per-second rate so you can feel when you're climbing the aggro list. Feign death and death reset your hate the way the server does.

Spell Timer Engine

Tick-accurate countdown bars for every buff, debuff, mez, stun, and DoT — driven directly from your live combat log and keyed per spell-and-target so the same debuff on two mobs is tracked as two separate timers. Durations are extended automatically by the focus items and AAs your character actually has equipped. Separate overlay windows for buffs and detrimentals.

Zeal Integration

When you have the Zeal mod installed, PQ Companion talks to it over a local Windows pipe to get authoritative live game state — target, target HP, pet name, group HP, casting state, and more. The first-launch wizard auto-detects Zeal; Settings shows live pipe status; everything below the surface gets sharper.

Know your target

NPC Info Overlay

The moment you consider a mob, the overlay shows its level, class, HP and max mana, colour-coded MR/CR/FR/DR/PR resists, body type, swing timer, aggro and assist radius, and special abilities — Summon, Unmezzable, Uncharmable, See Invis, Enrage, Flurry. Pulled straight from the database via your combat log; corpse targets resolve back to the underlying NPC so the panel stays useful after the kill.

Live Maps

Rendered zone maps parsed directly from your EQ client files — walls, floors, and depth-tinted contours, not a scanned-in image. A standalone Maps page and a Map tab on every zone share one panel, with Outline and Detailed display modes, live player and groupmate position tracking, and a pop-out overlay window you can float over the game. Mark your own annotations that write straight back to the in-game /map, and if you've already got a Brewall-style map pack installed, render it as a third display mode instead.

NPC Respawn Timers

A transparent overlay that watches NPC deaths in your combat log and counts down to respawn, so you know exactly when a named or a contested camp is due back. Project Quarm's accelerated respawn rates are applied automatically, so the countdown matches the server you're actually on instead of classic timers.

Run the heal chain without counting in your head

CH Chain & Metronome

Two overlays for raids that run a Complete Heal chain. The CH Chain panel reads your clerics' heal callouts straight from the log and tracks the whole rotation live — cast-to-land bars for each heal, the measured cadence between casts, and a stall indicator the moment the next healer is late. The personal CH Metronome paces your own slot so you know exactly when to start casting, with optional audio or spoken cues for countdown start and cast-now.

Lockouts Tracker

Parses your /sll output into live per-character countdowns for loot and legacy lockouts, so you always know when an instance or flagged encounter is available to you again. No spreadsheet, no guesswork — just run /sll and the timers update. A Plane of Time section syncs the same way from #timelockout.

Know where you stand, without pausing to /con

Faction Tracker

EQ never logs a faction's absolute value, so this tracker builds the closest thing to one: per-character tracking of every faction you've ever killed toward or considered, the same 'record everything encountered' approach as the Lockout and Player trackers. A running better/worse tally gets a best-effort point estimate whenever a change lines up with a resolved kill or an exact quest-turn-in delta, plus a 9-segment /con disposition bar per faction. Progress persists across restarts and character switches, and Log Backfill can seed a baseline from your existing history.

PoP Flagging Tracker

Planes of Power flagging is a maze of God flags, trial prerequisites, and multi-step key quests — this tracker turns it into a step-by-step checklist and a tiered flow chart. Each flag is classified and colour-coded by how you earn it (kill, turn-in, zone, key), locked steps stay locked until their prerequisites are actually met, and any-of groups handle trials with multiple valid paths (like the six Plane of Justice trials) without forcing you to complete every one.

Know your gaps before you pull

Raid Composition

A user-editable role taxonomy and a normalized encounter knowledge base power a live MIN/REC composition checker: point it at your current Zeal raid roster (or enter one by hand) and see exactly which roles are short, with class-eligible candidates for each gap. A Raid Summary dashboard tab shows encounter-agnostic per-class coverage, and a Raid Readiness overlay surfaces missing MIN-role classes without leaving the game. Contributed by Kav (Intervention), ported from his eqmon project.

Loot Tracker

A dedicated page that records drops as they happen, so you don't have to scroll back through the combat log to remember what came off which mob. Every logged drop is clickable both ways: open the item's full database entry in a detail popup, or jump straight to the source zone in the Database Explorer.

Kill Tracker

A Kill Log of every kill your log shows, with the time to the second, the killer and the zone, plus Kill Counters that count kills toward the milestones driving scripted Planes of Power raids. One-click presets built from Project Quarm's own quest scripts cover Bertoxxulous, Coirnav, Fennin Ro, the Stone Ring, Ston`Ruak, Drornok and Plane of Time phase 3, and counters correct themselves from the server's own announcements.

Character Progression

A full per-character workspace driven by Zeal exports. Stats panel computed from Project Quarm's real HP/Mana/AC/resist formulas — including AA passive bonuses — with stat caps, worn effects, and softcap AC. Paper-doll gear view with bag and bank cards. AA tracking split into trained vs. available, plus how many points you have left to spend. A Recap tab with a rolling level/AA/spell/skill journal, and a per-character to-do list with subtasks.

Capture /mystats, compare two builds

Stat Snapshots

With logging on, running Zeal's /mystats in game is captured automatically as a timestamped snapshot. Pick any two — before and after a gear or bandolier swap, say — and the Character Info tab lays them out side-by-side with a plain-English label on every stat and the change between them, so the in-game wall of numbers actually means something.

Cross-references every spell your class can learn against your Zeal-exported spellbook so you always know exactly which spells you still need to scribe. Filterable, level-aware, and updated whenever Zeal exports. Select the spells you need and the built-in planner maps an efficient vendor shopping run to go buy them.

Spell Emote Customizer

Some spells share an identical chat emote — every slow in the game says " yawns." on landing, so a bystander message alone can't tell you which one hit. This developer-mode tool lets you rewrite a spell's emote to disambiguate it, or add one to a spell that ships with none, like Divine Aura. Edits are stored structurally rather than as a raw file diff, so a server patch that republishes spells_en.txt doesn't wipe them — a watcher offers to re-apply your customizations on top of the new file.

Inventory Tracker

All inventory across every character in one searchable view, with item icons everywhere — equipped, bags, bank, shared bank. Search returns a flat, cross-character result list so you can find which alt is holding that one item in seconds, and you can scope the tracker to just your imported characters. Paper-doll layout with collapsible bag and bank cards (hide-empty-bags on by default). A dedicated Rechargeable Items section gathers your limited-charge clickies, each showing its remaining charges. Click any item to open its full database entry — including a Characters tab listing exactly who holds it — without leaving the page.

Trader Tracker

Bazaar selling is a black box — you set up a trader, walk away, and come back to a pile of platinum with no idea what actually moved. Trader Tracker infers your sales by comparing your Trader's Satchel between inventory exports: anything that left the satchel between two snapshots is a sale, reconciled against your trader price list so you can see exactly what sold and for how much.

Raid keys, parsed and tracked

Keys & Keyring

Two complementary views of your key progress. The Keyring tab is a live per-character /keys snapshot, with an inventory fallback for keys not yet added to a keyring (Plane of Time, Vex Thal). The Key Tracker walks the component quests for every major raid key — Veeshan's Peak, Sebilis (Trakanon Idol), Howling Stones (Key to Charasis), Arx Seru, Sleeper's Tomb, and more — and ticks off pieces from inventory as you collect them.

An all-slots overview surfaces the single best pick for each slot at a glance, and any candidate stars straight into your wishlist.

Will it land?

Resist Calculator

Estimate a spell's chance to land on any NPC before you spend the cast and the mana. The calculator ports Project Quarm's actual resist check and enumerates the full roll distribution, so you get a real land percentage that accounts for the target's resists, your level, spell resist modifiers, and the era's resist rules — not a rule of thumb. A resist-debuff section shows how much a tash or a malo shifts the odds.

Find the best pet in the zone

Charm Pet Finder

For enchanters, druids, necromancers, bards and magicians, the difference between a good charm and a great one is real DPS. Charm Pet Finder lists every charmable NPC in a zone for your class and charm spell, ranked by damage output, with the land chance for your charm (via the same resist engine as the calculator) and a warning when a target sits above your charm's level cap.

Craft your way to max skill

Tradeskill Leveling & Recipes

The Recipes browser lets you pin favourite combines and see every recipe an item is used in, but the real work is done by the leveling planner: pick a tradeskill and a target skill, and it builds a staged, step-by-step plan using nothing but recipes you can actually make — choosing 'fastest' (fewest combines) or 'cheapest' (least plat), factoring in the cost of any sub-combines you'd have to craft along the way, and warning you when a step crosses into a different tradeskill. Every recipe view also shows your live success and failure percentage from your actual skill and crafting-stat gear, including the trivial breakpoint where you can no longer fail.

Star any item from the Database Explorer — or any suggestion in the Gear Upgrade Finder — to add it to your character's wishlist; star it again to remove. The wishlist page groups entries by slot in collapsible drag-reorderable cards (with a flat All Items view for cross-slot prioritising) so your top upgrade for each slot is always one glance away. Layout, ordering, and collapse state persist per character.

Discord Voice Overlay

A pop-out overlay that embeds Discord's own hosted StreamKit Overlay page — the same tool people paste into OBS — showing a live voice-channel roster with a speaking highlight, right on top of the game. GINA-style, but local

Custom Triggers & Alerts

A regex trigger engine for any log line, plus a typed pipe-source mode that hooks into Zeal state instead of log text. Each trigger can hold several regex patterns at once (toggle each on or off) and use GINA-style {c}/{target} tokens, and a matched capture group — like a target's name — flows straight into the alert text and the timer it starts. Fire on-screen text alerts (draggable position and font size), local sound files, or text-to-speech — including an optional locally-installed Piper neural voice, or a second Kokoro voice via a self-hosted server, for a more natural read than the browser default. Organize everything into custom categories you can drag to reorder, customize the alert text style, apply a saved action template or bulk edit to many triggers at once, and replay historical log segments through the live pipeline to test a trigger before you rely on it.

Custom Timers

Manual countdown timers with their own dedicated overlays, for the things your combat log won't announce — a spawn window, a click-item cooldown, a phase timer. Start one by hand, or let a trigger start it for you with a duration pulled straight from a regex capture group, so a single log line can spin up a perfectly-timed countdown. Multiple named timer windows run side by side, each with its own close button, so you can split raid timers from personal cooldowns instead of stacking everything into one overlay.

A /who history that remembers

Players Database

Every player you see in /who output gets persisted to a searchable, sortable database — name, class, race, guild, last-seen level, last-seen zone, and a per-character level history. With Zeal, your raid roster feeds it too, so a raid fills the database with names, levels and classes without anyone typing /who. Anonymous sightings preserve the data you already knew. /guildstat output is captured too. Add your own notes to anyone, flag the players you'd rather avoid, and get a heads-up the moment one shows up. Filter by class, guild, or zone; click any row for level progression.

A searchable archive of your conversations parsed straight from the log. What started as a Tell Tracker for direct player-to-player tells grew into a full multi-channel chat log, with each person you've talked to laid out as their own conversation thread instead of a flat log dump — so the back-and-forth you'd otherwise lose to the scroll-back stays readable.

Spellsets

Reads Zeal's _spellsets.ini and surfaces every saved spellset as a card with the eight gems laid out. Rename them inline, add and remove sets, and import another character's spellsets from their .ini — with ineligible spells (class/level/spellbook mismatch) blocked at import so you never accidentally save a set you can't actually load in-game.

Bandolier & Macro Editors

Edit your Zeal weapon-swap bandolier sets and your in-game social macros without leaving PQ Companion. The bandolier editor guards you to gear you actually own and can equip — right down to class, race, and level — with item hover cards and a preferred storage bag. The macro editor mirrors EverQuest's real 2-column social layout with drag-to-rearrange slots, writes directly to your live in-game .ini file, and includes a /cancelbuff builder that turns a buff-name search into ready-made cancel-by-name macro lines.

Loot rolls, organized

Roll Tracker

Watches the combat log for /random results and groups them into per-range sessions, so a guild calling Cowl 333, Shard 444, and Heart 666 in overlapping bidding windows ends up with three independent leaderboards instead of one tangled mess. Each session shows every roll with the leader highlighted, marks re-rolls as duplicates, and lets you switch between Highest-wins and Lowest-wins on the fly. Contests can be grouped with configurable tiered presets, results render as shareable contest cards, and loot items are auto-suggested from chat.

Customizable Overlay Dashboard

A single Overlays page is your one-stop view of the run — DPS meter, spell timers, NPC info, and trigger alerts all in one place. Drag panels into the layout you want with a snap grid, resize them, and the arrangement persists across sessions. When you want them on top of the game, pop any panel out as its own click-through transparent window. A Manage overlays menu shows, pops out, and resets every window from one spot, a global Position-overlays mode makes them all draggable at once, and each overlay's locked behaviour is yours to set — right down to a Display-only HUD mode that ignores the mouse entirely.

Two backup systems in one place. App Backup & Restore exports your entire PQ Companion state — settings, triggers, character data, EQ config backups — into a single .pqcb bundle so you can move to a new PC and pick up exactly where you left off. EQ Config Backups snapshots every Project Quarm .ini file (UI layout, hotkeys, social macros) on a schedule or on file change, so you can roll back instantly if a UI overhaul breaks something. Both live under Settings → Backups.

PQ Companion is built specifically for Project Quarm, the classic-era emulated server. It pairs with Zeal to give you the kinds of out-of-game tools modern MMOs ship by default — combat log parsing, target info, spell timers, and a searchable database — without forcing you to alt-tab.

It's a single Windows app. No browser tabs, no Discord bots, no spreadsheets. Just the tools at the keyboard, while you play.

Stay out of the way

Overlays are transparent, click-through, and live above the game window. Nothing alt-tabs you out of the game.

PQ Companion never modifies the game client or game data. It watches your log file and your Zeal exports — that's it.
